Magic Hour revolves around the strange, bewitching and fantastical things that happen during that beautiful time of day right before the sunset or sunrise. This world was inspired by Che’s love of shows like The Twilight Zone and Twin Peaks which stretch one’s imagination and build a cinematic universe where the impossible becomes possible. The characters who inhabit this world will represent a rich variety of lived experiences and identities, putting women, POC and the LGBTQIA+ community at the forefront.
Episode One
“Soul Searching in Tokyo” is the first installment of the series starring Indya Moore (POSE). The pilot is a genderbending reimagining of Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein, with a modern twist. In this psychedelic-macabre portrait, a mysterious young woman wakes up one morning without a soul and roams the streets of Tokyo in search of one.
Soul Searching in Tokyo was written and directed by Che Grayson, produced by Gigi Dement, Kimberly Jago, and Indya Moore. MAGIC HOUR finished principal photography on location in Tokyo, Japan and New York City and is currently in Post-Production.
